Lesson Overview

Students will view a video introducing them to energy sources and other energy-related concepts. They will then investigate how energy is transferred from an energy source to an energy receiver by observing a demonstration involving basketballs. Students then relate the concept of energy transfer to vehicles.

Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
  • Provide a definition of energy as the ability to cause a change or to move matter.
  • Identify the energy source and energy receiver in a simple transfer of energy.
